Katherine Miles

SENIOR GRANT SPECIALIST

Focus on Early Childhood Education at Northwest Arkansas Community College

From an early age, Katherine knew her goal in life was to help people, bouncing around the idea of growing up to be a teacher, a nurse, or a counselor. She combined this passion for helping others with her love of writing, and now helps clients reach their goals and make a difference in the community. Katherine has a background in early childhood education and youth development. Katherine began writing grants in 2018 while working at a Boys & Girls Club. It was there she saw firsthand the impact that words can have on creating positive change.

Katherine furthered her knowledge of nonprofit management and grant writing during her time at the Boys & Girls Club, playing a key role in expanding the organization from a singular Club to four Clubs across the Arkansas River Valley through grant writing and fundraising. Passionate about conveying the mission of nonprofits through compelling and meaningful stories, her love of grant writing and helping those in need brought her to The Dotted i in 2022.

Katherine grew up in Northwest Arkansas, exploring the natural beauty of the Ozarks. Her family keeps her busy, with she and her husband tag-teaming practices, games, and playdates for their two sons. She loves all things fall – camping, hiking, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, and football (although she’s slowly coming around to being a baseball mom after a couple of years). In her free time, you can catch her reading one of the many books on her “to be read” list, listening to her favorite Spotify playlists, or trying her hand at a new baking recipe she found.
